Before Endodontic Treatment

Thank you for selecting our office for your root canal treatment.

Plan on being in our office for approximately two hours. This procedure will be performed using local anesthesia. There are usually no restrictions after the procedure concerning driving or returning to work unless special arrangements have been made to take sedative medications.

Continue all medications for blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems and any other conditions as recommended by your physician. If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.

Please eat a full breakfast or lunch as applicable.

If you have been advised by your physician or dentist to use antibiotic pre-medication because of mitral valve prolapse (MVP), heart murmur, hip, knee, cardiac or other prosthesis, or if you have rheumatic heart disease, please make sure you are on the appropriate antibiotic on the day of your appointment. If there is a question, please call our office prior to your appointment.

Please do not take medication for discomfort at least 6 to 8 hours prior to your appointment so that an accurate diagnosis can be established.

Please complete the Online Patient Registration form so that we may prepare for your visit.

If a CBCT scan is needed we will ask you to remove all non essential metal from the neck up.

Many people enjoy  listening to music during treatment.  Please feel free to bring your headphones and iPod.
